About Us
Every year, nearly 16,000 children in the United States alone are diagnosed with cancer. While the overall survival rate has improved over the past few decades, cancer remains the second leading cause of death in children behind accidents. For those who survive, life is often complicated and compromised by life-long, chronic health challenges including heart disease, stunted growth, infertility, secondary cancers, and premature death.
We the CLGCFATL,Inc. have tasked ourselves with helping to finance the care, and provide resources for children in Barbados who might not have access to proper treatments and cures. Our goal is to partner with other entities where possible to save lives and to provide a hope for children afflicted with childhood cancers. To this end, we focus our funding on offering financial assistance to families and providing resources to facilities who are dedicated to assisting children in their care.
What We Have Done
We assisted the Grazette family in securing an automobile to assist in transporting Carrie-Lynn
to and from the St Jude Children's Research Hospital to various health facilities for treatment.
We provided an emotional support dog for Carrie-Lynn Grazette prior to her return to Barbados.
We donated books, toys and other assistance to the Nightingale Children's Home in Barbados.
We provided televisions, tables, waiting area seating and other items to the pediatric ward of
the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados.
We spearheaded a fundraiser that raised money for the purchase of over 400 computer tablets
which were presented to elementary schools in Barbados in 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Organized and hosted “We Gatherin’ 2020” The Online Version, featuring The Rt. Hon. Mia
Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados. The online event reached over 20,000 Barbadians
and Friends of Barbados in the diaspora via Facebook and Zoom.
We gifted the pediatric ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with four (4) Baxter Sigma
Spectrum Infusion pumps and supporting IV poles.
When called upon we have hosted and entertained Barbadian individuals and groups visiting
Atlanta.
We collected and provided water and other supplies to send to New Orleans in the aftermath of
a hurricane.
We were recently called upon by the Consul General's office in Miami to be the conduit for
funds collected to aid a Barbadian woman seeking cancer treatment in Miami.
Organized and managed a relief effort for the countries affected by Hurricane Beryl in 2024.
Provided both cash, clothing, household items and toiletries.
While seeking to fulfil our mission to help Barbadian children afflicted with cancer, we have
remained open to helping wherever there's a need or called upon to promote a Barbadian cause
here in Atlanta.
